BLUE CROSS DORIS

Doris arrived into our care after their owner couldn’t care for them any longer due to personal circumstances, they decided they were best placed with Blue Cross to secure their future. Doris is looking for a loving and patient home as a non-ridden companion. Doris is needing to go to a home that is very experienced with working with nervous ponies and clicker training as this is what her groom does with her on a regular basis and this really helps her learn and trust, so this would need to be continued as this is the best way to improve her confidence with people again. When Doris first arrived at Blue Cross, she was very wary of being approached by people and it has taken a long time for her to gain her grooms trust. Doris can now be led and caught by her known groom using positive reinforcement training. Doris would really benefit from going to a home where someone has time for her to settle and time to spend with her doing regular positive training sessions to gain her trust and carry on her handling training. She can live out 24/7 with access to shelter and needs a similar size companion, as she is wary of larger ponies. Could you be the patient, loving and understanding home she needs?
